Osteopaths in Worcester
Cameron-Mitchell Osteopaths offer treatment for patients in or near Worcester...
What is Osteopathy and what makes it different?
Osteopaths view health and illness from a musculoskeletal perspective. That is, through a variety of techniques, they mobilise the joints, relieve muscle tension, and restore blood and nerve supply to tissues.
This facilitates the body’s own healing mechanism allowing health to return.
The body is a functional unit and the inter relationships between the body systems are so extensive, none can be considered in isolation. But what really sets Osteopathy apart is the way it applies its body of knowledge. It is based on palpation which has been refined over a century of teaching. It recognizes a reciprocal relationship between structure and function.
At our practice in Worcester, the Osteopathy is truly patient centred, by which we mean that it is the patient’s tissues which inform the Osteopath what to do. Osteopaths will often say they have to put their hands on the patient to discover what is happening.
"I see Duncan several times a year to get my pelvis and lower back corrected. The sports physios at the club offer fantastic treatment but they don’t manipulate and really get stuck into my back like Duncan does. I always feel two inches taller when I leave. Brilliant stuff"
